Varuzhan Keshishyan's Biography

Varuzhan was born in 1950, in what was then Soviet Armenia.

1966-1968 He attended Art College of Terlemczyan. 1970-1975 He received a Master Degree in Architecture.

Upon graduation Varuzhan realized that he had more passion for art than architecture.1975-1980 He became an art teacher. In 1980, Varuzhan immigrated to the United States with his family.

For two decades and for financial stability he served as general manager of Architectural Sign Systems designing interiors for health care facilities. At some point a workshop at The California Art Institute from the Master Impressionist, Karl Dempwolf, validated Varuzhan's quest for higher goals in fine art.

Varuzhan's passion is evident in his exquisite Plein Air paintings. As one enjoys Varuzhan's paintings, it is evident that he was heavily influenced by well known Russian Masters such as Valentin Serov, Nicoli Fechin, Iliya Repin and Nicoli Timkov.
