Rose Tanner's Biography

Rose Tanner is a painter from Canada. Her lifelong love affair with nature is reflected on her canvases, which offer the viewer a window to nature as seen through the artist's eyes.

Rose began her artistic career while she owned a certified organic lavender farm, and continued her artistic development by devoting her time and energy to field sketches along with the photography of migrations, rookeries and backyard birds. The personality of each bird she paints is clearly communicated through the medium of oil on linen, as is the artist's respect and love for flora, fauna and the environment.

When not depicting birds Rose enjoys painting nature outdoors and still life in her studio.

Rose is conducting formal studies towards her Masters in Fine Arts through the Academy of Art University. She is a student of Daniel Keys, as well as honing her talent through workshops offered by other contemporary masters. Rose had a solid professional background in publishing and software design, utilizing her talent to develop and promote the work of others. She currently works not only as an artist, but as a Volunteer Art Instructor for at-risk youth.
